Is the answer to Holly's broken heart hidden in a village called Christmas?

My Review

A Christmas trope is one of my all time favourite tropes, add to it samll town and found family and you've got a winner in my mind. After discovering her boyfriend cheating on her- and losing her job (and essentially her home too) all in one day, Christmas is set to be a disaster.

With a touch of magical realism she stumbles upon a Village called Christmas, this village only appears to those who need it and the cosmic timing flips her miserable experiences into something special! Everyone working and living there have a Christmassy themed name (or job). And she is soon accepted into this delightful community.

Jodie's vivid descriptions had me wanting to sniff the pages, all the bakery scents and the dolls appearances and surrounds were just perfection. I really enjoyed the fairytale, mystique setting, and the magical mystery about the location. I love that Holly is real, and sweary and relatable The pop culture references added a lovely touch. And I'm so glad she "found family". Her previous life friends were wonderful too and I'm so glad they too found a space.

It reminded me of The Holiday, where Cameron Diaz falls in love with Jude Law and his 2 girls. So if you're a fan of romcoms, snow, magical realism and quirky characters then you'll love this!
