Synopsis
Could you raise the son he had with his ex?

Lila may not have been the love of her husband’s life, but they’ve built an enviable life together. Lila goes back to school shopping for her daughters and manages her thriving at-home baking business. Her husband Ryan is on partner track at one of Los Angeles’ top law firms.
But then Ryan comes home with some disturbing news: he had a son with his ex, Meredith. Meredith never told him. And now Meredith is dead and Ryan’s son is an orphan. Can the boy come live with them?
Without hesitation, Lila agrees to accept this sulky teenager into her home. After all, how else could she learn about her husband’s old flame

A totally heartwarming and powerful story about family, secrets, and impossible dilemmas. Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, Diane Chamberlain, and Amanda Prowse.

My review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What would you do if you discovered that your husband has a son you and he (allegedly) knew nothing about? And what's more, the son is 12 years old and just lost his mother to cancer?

Lila immediately agrees to accept 12 year old Adam into their home. But from the start, they seem to clash, but Adam gets along with his newly found father and 2 young sisters.

I could sympathise with Lila. Her world was turned upside down. When things start to go wrong, she blames Adam, and it really seems that it all is him. When something HUGE happens decisions need to be made, decisions that will have a serious long term effect!

Told in multiple timelines and POV it made for an intriguing read, I love seeing different sides to the same story.
With a twist or two to get your heart pounding with tension and tears brimming.

I enjoyed and liked all the characters and thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming book. This is the first novel I have read by Aviva Gat, but it won't be the last.

Thank you, Aviva, for the arc, in exchange for my honest thoughts.
